RIDERS
2007
|
 |
 |
The team’s aim is to help young pilots with a strong
potential to improve, by offering them a strong and effective
support.
The team will be running in two disciplines:
Speed, with 6 ACTION BIKE RACING pilots including Lionel Braun,
Jonathan Castanet et Kevin Denis participating in the Promosport
French Cup on Suzuki GSX-R 600 and Cyril Brivet on Suzuki GSX-R
1000. We chose Promosport because of its moderate cost, and
there are two events in the Paris region.
Endurance, with one Suzuki GSX-R 1000 representing the team
in the 24 hours of Le Mans, the “Bol d'Or” and
the 6 hours of Albacete Superstock category with a crew composed
of Josetxo Sainz, Sébastien Prulhière and 2 other
pilots who will be selected in the speed team.

|
At only 17, Kevin Denis can already boast
an impressive list of achievements from his first steps
in competition (when he was only 12): 36 races and
28 podium spots, with three national titles on top
of it all! Kevin reached the 2nd position in the “Coupe
Conti” in 2002, and then became a Super 50 French
champion and a junior French champion in 2003. In 2004,
Kevin was once again in the lead in the 50 Open French
championship, when his team had to shut up shop.
In 2005, Kevin moved on to 125, but in Promosport,
as he didn’t have the necessary funds to join
the Avenir team or any other team in the 125 Open.
Just like many other pilots, Kevin’s main sponsors
are his parents. Kevin finished this championship at
the 6th position by winning the last event. In 2006,
Kevin won the title in that very same category, two
races before the end of the championship: 8 races,
6 podium spots, 3 victories, and only one withdrawal.
Given his height (1m84), 600 is the next logical move.
After having hesitated for a long time between Junior
Trophy in Open and the Promosport races, Kevin finally
chose that solution because of all the reliability
and the progression possibilities the Action
Bike Racing Team had to offer. His goal is, as in 125, to learn
during this season, and to win next year before moving
on to international competition, provided he finds
major sponsors.
Achievements:
2002: 2nd in the “Coupe Conti”
2003: Super 50 French champion
2006: 125 Promosport French champion

At only 19, Jonathan Castanet is
a promising young pilot. After a first learning
season in 600, he is back in 2007 and is hoping
to use the experience he gathered last year to
bring him to the forefront, while thanks to his
talent, he can expect to win a podium spot.
Jonathan has been running races since he was 12.
He has patiently built his own image. He is an
athlete with an extremely healthy life and a solid
physical preparation, and his style on the circuit
is of an explosive sense of steering and impressive
aggressive nature which contrasts with his outwardly
cool attitude and good humour on the paddocks.
As he is never satisfied with his results, Jonathan
is constantly improving. Today he is considered
as one of the great hopes in French speed racing,
and he aims, once he secures national titles for
international championships.
Achievements:
2006: 12th Promosport 600cc French cup
2005: promosport 125cc French cup champion
5 podium spots, 4 victories, 2 pole positions
2004: 3rd in the Promosport 125cc French cup
2003: Open 125cc French championship
2nd in the “coupes du salon 125cc”
2002: 4th in the Conti 50cc French cup

The French vice-champion in 250 Promosport
category in 2004, Lionel Braun is, at only 20 years
old, one of the great hopes in French speed racing.
During the 2006 season, as he was running in the
highly disputed 600cc category (almost 120 participants),
he was placed 5 times on the first departure line
and achieved two great pole positions with more than
a half-second lead.
Overall, he was on the podium three times, including
once in Nogaro where he started from the 15th position.
He was ranked on the 6th position of the Promosport
600 French cups at the tend of his season.
Lionel is running in the Promosport 600 French cup
were his experience, his talent, and the structure
of this team should allow him to reach the podium.
Thanks to the team’s philosophy which consists
of helping its young pilots improve, Lionel will
also be running in a few endurance races, including
the 24 hours of le Mans for the ACTION
BIKE RACING team.
On top of his motorcycle racing career, Lionel is
getting a Master’s at the IESEG business school
in Lille.
Achievements:
2006: 6th in the Promosport 600 French cups. ( 2
pole positions, 5 first lines, 3 podium spots)
2005: 15th in the Promosport 600 French cups ( injuries).
1st on Suzuki.
17th in the Superstock 600 European championship
in Magny Cours.
2004: 250 Promosport French vice-champion.
2 races in the 125 European championship with the “Espoir” French
team.
2002: Beginnings in Junior Cup: 1 victory. Selections
in the "Prix de l'Avenir".

Cyril Brivet has loved motorcycle
racing ever since he was young. He ran for the
first time on a QR 50motorcycle when he was 4.
He started running in competitions in 2001, and
ended on 6th position in the Conti Cup 50. In 2002,
he moved on straight to the 125 Open French championship
where he achieved an honourable 10th position.
That season left him the best memories. Yet because
of his build, he chose to go for bigger motorcycles.
That’s why he performed for two seasons in
Hornet Cup 600 later to become the French Cup in
which he ran in 2005 and 2006, achieving a 4th
position thanks to two podium spots.
This year he is moving up to the next category
and he will be representing ACTION BIKE
RACING Promosport 1000 French cup on the brand new Suzuki
GSX-R 1000 K7.
Achievements:
2006: 4th in the French Cup Honda 600cc
2005: 6th in the French Cup Honda 600cc
2004: 9th in the Hornet Cup Honda 600cc
2003: 15th in the Hornet Cup Honda 600cc
2002: 16th in the open 125cc French championship
2001: 6th in the Conti Cup 50cc
He also entered the runner Cup 50cc French championship

As it is often the case for other
pilots, Sébastien didn’t have the
necessary material and financial resources, and
could only start competing at the age of 24, after
working for a few years, which enabled him to get
his own motorcycle, as well as the structure and
the equipment required for competitions.
It was therefore in 2003 that he started racing
in the privileged category of the Promosport French
cup: the 1000.
At the time, he didn’t know anyone in the
milieu and had no idea as to the administrative
and technical working of a competition.
After a very satisfying year 2003 – he made
his debut with two 6th positions (Mérignac
and Lédenon), he went through a difficult
year 2004, as he didn’t manage to set up
his motorcycle. 2005 was a better year: he reached
the 13th position in the 1000 Stocksport French
championship (a good result given his means). Thanks
to his performance in the Promosport French cup
driving a Suzuki GSX-R 1000 he was spotted by Suzuki
who invited him to two events in the GSX-R European
Cup (Silverstone and Misano).
In 2006, he pulled off a few good performances,
first in the Promosport 1000 French cup where he
reached pole position at Croix-en-Ternois and at
Nogaro where he came in 3rd, but also in Endurance
World championship, where he achieved a wonderful
victory in Stocksport in the 6 hours of Zolder
with the LTG team.
He’s hoping to repeat his achievements this
year with the ACTION BIKE RACING team.
